Your Piercing Experience

When you arrive, you will have time to browse the selection of jewellery on offer and discuss the options with our in-house team, then you will go through to our piercing studio where you will meet your piercing specialist.

Each appointment will last for 20-30 minutes depending on the piercing you require, and each appointment is for one person only.

We advise you arrive 10 minutes ahead of time to ensure you have time to browse and decide on the jewellery you would like.

Please note that not all jewellery is suitable for every ear / piercing so we will give you advice on this during your appointment.

Your appointment will include the following:

HOW MUCH IS THE PIERCING JEWELLERY?

The jewellery you choose is additional in cost to the appointment price. We have a range of piercing jewellery designs available which starts from around £20 for a pair of earrings and £15 for a single earring.

No, only one person per appointment booked is allowed. This is due to heath and safety regulations and there are no exceptions to this.

CAN I BRING SOMEONE TO THE APPOINTMENT WITH ME?

Each appointment booked with us is for one person only. You may have one person accompany you if needed, although ideally your appointment is just for you. The exception to this rule is for children, for whom someone with parental responsibility is required to be present.

WHO WILL BE DOING MY PIERCING?

Your appointment will be for 20/30 minutes depending on the appointment type. This time slot does not include time to browse for your jewellery, so make sure you arrive around 15 minutes early to leave enough time to choose your piercing jewellery.

ARE THERE ANY REASONS I CAN'T HAVE A PIERCING?

For your piercing to take place it is important that you adhere to the following.

  • You must not have taken any blood thinning medication in the 24 hours before the appointment, such as aspirin.
  • You must not have taken any drugs or alcohol for 24 hours before the appointment.
  • You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You must have eaten within the 4 hours before your appointment to avoid feeling faint.
  • We will require a note from your GP if you have any medical conditions such as epilepsy or if you are taking any blood thinning medication.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss any of these points before making your appointment.

CAN CHILDREN HAVE PIERCINGS?

Yes, they can. It is very important that children experience their first ear piercing in a safe and relaxing environment. We know this can be a daunting experience for little ones, so we provide the opportunity for them to have their first piercing in the privacy of our bespoke piercing studio. The relaxing atmosphere and an opportunity to choose something yummy from our sweetie bar will make it a fun and memorable experience. We have experience piercing our own children so will take the same level of care with yours.

Please note, there are age restrictions for piercing children.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO LOOK AFTER MY PIERCING?

The aftercare of your piercing is very important - new piercings can become infected if not cared for correctly. We recommend prioritising your aftercare within your usual daily routine to ensure the best results. Healing time for piercings will vary depending on the person, but as long as you carry out the instructions on our aftercare cards and choose to use our aftercare pack, it is unlikely that you will have problems with your piercing.

And finally, please don’t twist your piercing, twisting can extend the healing period and also cause infection.

Take a look at our full aftercare guide here.

WILL MY PIERCING HURT AFTERWARDS?

You may initially have some swelling, bruising and bleeding in the area you have had pierced. This area may also feel hot and look red. This will subside.

For a while after and during the healing process you may experience the following:

  • Itching
  • Discolouration
  • A white fluid that crusts around your jewellery

The care of your piercing is your responsibility and so long as you follow the guidance offered on our aftercare card your piercing should heal well. If you do experience any infections or issues of concern, please contact us or your GP. We advise that you do not remove any jewellery from the area in these cases until they have been assessed by us or your GP. This is to prevent further infection within the piercing wound.

CAN MY PIERCING JEWELLERY BE CHANGED?

This depends on the area you have had the piercing. Lobes typically take around 8 weeks to heal, whilst cartilage can usually take up to 1 year to fully heal. We recommend waiting until your piercing has fully healed before attempting to change the jewellery as this can lead to pain and infection.

MY PIERCING IS PAINFUL, IS SOMETHING WRONG?

Initially your piercing may be painful and a cartilage piercing can take up to one year to fully heal. Cartilage piercings can be a labour of love, bear with it. During this healing period you may experience times where the piercing is uncomfortable. During these times we recommend always keeping the jewellery in place. Removing it can lead to infection. Use aftercare solution for as long as the piercing requires it. This routine is useful to remember if your piercing becomes irritated even after the healing period.

CAN I BRING MY OWN JEWELLERY TO BE PIERCED WITH?

No, due to health and safety and ensuring the piercing jewellery is adequately sterilised, we will only pierce with our own jewellery.

CAN I BE PIERCED IN THE SAME PLACE AN OLD PIERCING HAS HEALED?

This entirely depends on the person and the area of scar tissue. Please contact us if you have this issue and we can assess the area for you.

CAN I HAVE A HOOP EARRING IN A NEW PIERCING?

Yes, although we do recommend a stud for initial piercings. This helps to prevent infection and the piercing from being caught. If you would really like a hoop we do offer a solid gold option.
