Every piercing marks a moment, but what happens next is where the real artistry lives. Care is not an afterthought; it’s a continuation of the ritual. The way you cleanse, the way you rest, the patience you give your body; it all becomes part of the story you wear. Healing is a slow collaboration between you and the piece. Each day, a conversation between skin and metal, between presence and becoming. It’s how something small turns into something meaningful, how adornment becomes part of you. Because at West, we believe beauty isn’t just in what you choose; it’s in how you care for it, how you carry it, and how it grows with you. and most of all remember ''Calm mind = calm body''. Reach out to us anytime; we’ll guide you through it.

AFTERCARE FAQ's |

WHAT SPRAYS DO I NEED FOR MY AFTERCARE?

We recommend using Pronto Lind - this is a high grade clinical anti-Bacterial Spray. It is more effective than Saline and actively goes in and kills any germs which may be forming. You can buy it on line or from us in the shop.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO SPRAY MY PIERCING?

It's really important that you don't over spray your piercing - if it is constantly damp it can't heal - remember that drying out the piercing is an important part of your body healing. So we only recommend using the spray first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

HOW LONG DO I NEED TO SPRAY MY PIERCING FOR?

We recommend a maximum of two weeks on a daily basis, and then just as and when it's needed.

CAN I TOUCH MY PIERCING?

Please don't touch your piercing for the first 7 days - after that make sure whenever you touch it you have washed your hands.

DO I NEED TO TWIST OR TURN MY PIERCING?

No - it will move on its own accord, which is fine, but please don't twist it.

DO I NEED TO COME BACK AND SEE YOU?

If you have had a needle piercing with a flat back then yes, it is really important you come back after 3 or 4 weeks and get the post change to a shorter post. This is called 'Downsizing' and is a really important part of a good healing process.

WHAT IS A PIERCING BUMP?

A piercing bump is your body trying to protect you. It thinks the piercing shouldn't be there and is trying to flush it out with Lymph fluid. The fluid is in the tissue, so whilst it may look like a blister it isn't and it's important not to pierce it.

HOW DO I TREAT A PIERCING BUMP?

Initially we recommend trying the Anti Bacterial spray and giving it time to settle. Failing that we recommend getting some dissolvable aspirin, mixing it with a little warm water so it becomes a past, then putting it on the front and back of the pierced area, let it dry and sleep with it on. In the morning rinse it off with warm water. do that for a week and see if it helps. If it doesn't then contact us.

WHEN CAN I LEAVE MY PIERCING WITH NO JEWELLERY IN OVERNIGHT?

You must keep something in your piercing for at least 12 months - you can change the jewellery earlier than that but don't leave it with nothing in.

WHEN CAN I CHANGE MY PIERCING JEWELLERY?

If it is a lobe piercing you can change your jewellery in 6-8 weeks. If it is a cartilage piercing we recommend waiting until it is fully healed - normally 3-6months.

IF I'M WORRIED ABOUT HOW I'M HEALING WHAT'S THE BEST THING TO DO?

Pop in and see us - we are hear for the healing process as much as we are for the piercing and the Jewellery. If you can't get to us then take a photo and DM us - we are always on the end of a DM (working hours :). Or failing that then WhatsApp us on our shop mobile - 079461 721799

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?

That varies person to person , and depends on your health. Your healing time is directly connected to your immune system - if you have a suppressed immune system or get a cold or the flu, it will take longer. As a very broad rule of thumb we say 6-8 weeks for lobe piercings and around 6 months for cartilage piercings. Navel nose and nipple piercings can be around 3 months.
